Welcome to my Practice

You may find yourself at a critical crossroad in life, in which you now seek direction for healing and restoration from depression, anxiety, loss, grief, separation/divorce, history of trauma or abuse, addiction, or health concerns. Perhaps you face a major life decision or transition. You may be dealing with difficulty in your marriage or need help with with your child or teen who is struggling socially, emotionally, academically, or with disruptive behavior.

As an experienced psychologist, I have worked with hundreds of clients and understand the intricacies of various psychological issues that people face. I help individuals, couples and families find their abundant path to real change and freedom though my holistic approach to considering the person's soul (mind-will-emotions), body, and spirit. I help clients resolve their emotional issues of the past and the present, as well as finding balance in prioritizing family and relationships, spiritual growth, physical and mental health, work, finances, education, recreation, and ministry, etc.

I will incorporate evidenced-based treatment techniques and psycho-education that match your problems and needs. Together we will collaborate to formulate the treatment goals and plan based on the initial assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in the first session when I see a therapist?

The first session will be more of an assessment of your problems and goals for therapy. We will spend time getting to know each other and I will go over any questions of concerns. It is perfectly normal to feel uncomfortable in the beginning of therapy. However, the best results will be obtained in consistent attendance in the beginning of treatment. As your symptoms or problems begin to alleviate, Dr. Nelson may recommend less frequent sessions.
